A Unique Government Facility                                                                                                                            with Panoramic Views of Bratislava

Hotel Bôrik is a purpose-built government facility located at the base of Castle Hill, overlooking the left bank of the Danube River—the longest river in the European Union. Ideally positioned, it is just a 20-minute walk from the Slovak Parliament and Bratislava Castle.

Constructed between 1967 and 1973, Hotel Bôrik was designed by renowned Slovak architects Ing. Štefan Svetko and Ing. Štefan Ďurkovič, who also collaborated on other landmark projects in Bratislava, including the iconic inverted pyramid of the Slovak Radio building.

The architectural layout consists of six interconnected blocks that house the main hotel area, four private residences, event and social spaces, and expansive terraces offering stunning panoramic views of the Danube. Most guest rooms and suites boast exceptional views across the city of Bratislava.

The hotel underwent a comprehensive interior renovation between 1998 and 2003, during which many original artworks were carefully preserved. One of the most striking pieces is the spectacular chandelier by artist Alex Mlynarčík, made up of 2,000 glass spheres of varying sizes.                                                                                                                                         Chandelier Created by Artist Alex Mlynarčík                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Hotel Bôrik operates under the administration of the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic.                          It primarily serves official state and government delegations, ministries, embassies, and their staff.

Over the years, the hotel has welcomed numerous high-profile guests, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, Jimmy Carter, Margaret Thatcher, Mikhail Gorbachev, George Bush, and Vladimir Putin.

In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Slovak government temporarily provided accommodation at Hotel Bôrik to Ukrainian families fleeing the war.
